The Surrender Sound exists to create an environment in which individuals are led into a time of authentic worship of the Father. The band prayerfully considers song selection, elements of flow and order, arrangements, and other components, to enable a time of worship free of distraction and barriers. The team is comprised of musicians that have a personal relationship with Christ and constantly strive to live obediently and serve faithfully in the Spirit.
About Josh Taylor

I’ve had the tremendous blessing of serving the Body and performing creative works for over a decade now – and it never gets old. As a high school student and throughout college, I had the privilege of leading the youth of Champion Forrest Baptist Church in Spring, Texas, where I would facilitate worship for Sunday services, Disciple Now weekends and summer camps. The last six years were also spent writing and creating alternative rock music with my band, Clairmont, which released two records and held a spot on a compilation from Esotype Records.
I hesitate when classifying my art as “Christian” or not because I feel it contradicts my mission and ministry – to glorify the Lord in all that I say and do. I’ve been fortunate to share my music in a range of venues, from churches to nightclubs, and the running thread is that we’re all broken and desperately in need of a Savior to rescue us, despite where we find ourselves on a Saturday night. It’s my sincerest desire that, with each musical utterance, I’m able to serve the Kingdom and bless the Lord with the sweet melodies He’s given me.
I recently moved to Nacogdoches, Texas, with my wife, Whitney, and daughter, June, as we pursue a new journey – full-time church ministry. I’m serving a local church, Grace Bible Church, as the assistant worship pastor and director of communications. I’m leading college students in worship each and every week – how sweet is that?!? We’re expecting our second child, a boy named Weston, on April 7. I enjoy playing XBOX, graphic design, meeting new people and sending random, and loud, Heytel messages to friends and bandmates.
